Smart idle detection — pauses only on real inactivity, not just because you switched to a terminal, browser, or compiler while still working. Idle timeout is configurable.

Privacy by design — nothing is sent anywhere until you provide an API key and explicitly accept the privacy policy. Until then, time is tracked locally only.

ProjectTimer collects only two things: project name and time spent, in seconds. No source code, file contents, or keystrokes are ever read or transmitted. Data leaves your machine only after you enter an API key and accept the privacy policy — see the full Privacy Policy.
