New features for v1.1

  • Support for .jpg images (in addition to .png)
  • Create wide or square manifest images from any size source image
  • Create smaller scales of any image, even if scale-xxx isn't in the filename

How to use

Right click any .png, .jpg, .bmp, or .svg image and choose the new "Scale image..." context menu item. A dialog will show to let you choose which images get generated in the same location as the source image.

Use the dropdown in the middle of the dialog to choose what type of images you want to generate:

If you choose "smaller scales of the source image" then the scale of the source image must be defined. It can either come from the filename, if the filename has scale-xxx in it, or you can type in a scale in the dialog if the filename doesn't have scale-xxx in it.

For the "manifest image" choices, all of the various image sizes and scales are already set for you. You can uncheck the manifest images that you don't want to generate. Check this out in the screenshots below.

It's best to start with really large images so that a lot of smaller scales can be generated. The recommended starting size for square manifest images is 1240px x 1240px. For wide manifest images, the recommended starting size is 2480px x 1200px.
