VSBackup is a Visual Studio extension for backing up and restoring a solution directory without having to leave Visual Studio. VSBackup is a very useful extension if you are not using any version control or if you are in the prototyping stage. This is not a substitute for source control. Take care of your code files. Only full backups are performed.

******* Data File Conversion *******

If you are upgrading from version 1.x, the data file needs to be converted. You should see a message giving you instructions on how to convert the data file when the extension is being loaded into Visual Studio. This sometimes does not happen. If you do not see this message at the beginning, go to Tools --> Options --> VSBackup --> General Settings. You will see a button labeled Convert Data File. Click the button and the conversion process will start.

The message stating that the data file conversion needs to be completed will also be displayed when you click the Settings and VSBackup - Start Backup menu item on the Tools menu if you have not completed the conversion process.

Licensing

You can use the software for 30 days before you need to enter a license. At the end of the 30th day and if you don't enter a valid license, backups can no longer be performed

$25 for an individual license.

Prerequisites

VSBackup uses Robocopy for the backup process. Please make sure that Robocopy.exe is located at the following location, ‘C:\Windows\System32’ before the backup operation.
