Working with REST APIs in SSIS can be challenging and time-consuming. Our SSIS add-on components simplify the process and offer easy-to-use SSIS components to work with any REST or SOAP endpoint.

Connecting to REST API

All processes begin with the connection. Using our HTTP Connection Manager developers can connect to any REST or SOAP web endpoint easily. The connection manager will support custom and third-party APIs including those requiring OAuth2 authentication.

SSIS REST Source

Using our JSON Source component developers can quickly retrieve JSON documents from your REST endpoint and extract the data into column data. The same process can be done with endpoints using XML by using our XML Source instead.

SSIS REST Destination

Using our JSON Destination component developers are able to merge column data into JSON by creating hierarchical JSON structure before writing to the target REST destination. The same processes can be done with endpoints using XML by using XML Destination.

Have a WSDL file? Use Web Service Source and Web Service Destination.

Integration with an Enterprise or Commercial web application?

Our REST components can still be used to integrate with these applications but we may have an even greater solution available for you. See our current solutions to see if we have SSIS components built to interact specifically with your online application (Such as Dropbox, Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce and many more). Since these components were built exclusively for their web application they offer significantly greater functionality and ease of use. You are able to integrate with these REST or SOAP endpoints with the data already structured into column format, with many additional functional features available.

Licensing

We offer three licensing levels: Free Developer's License, Trial License, and a Commercial Subscription License.

  1. Free Developer's License: You do not need to acquire a license if you only want to test out the software functionality within the development tools (SSDT-BI, BIDS - Business Intelligence Development Studio, or Visual Studio). After installation, the software will operate under the free developer license by default. With the developer license, you can create and develop data flows within the development tools (SSDT-BI, BIDS, or Visual Studio), including executing test loads without requiring a commercial license. To recap, the free developer license is fully-functional within the development tools (SSDT-BI, BIDS, or Visual Studio). The only limitation is the inability to run the software outside the development tools.
  2. Trial License: If you want to evaluate whether the software functions properly outside of the development tools (SSDT-BI, BIDS, or Visual Studio), you can acquire a trial license using the License Manager program which is installed along with the software. To request a Trial License, please open the License Manager program (on your new server) and select “Change License Key”. You can leave the license field empty in this case. Once the other fields are completed, the “Request a Trial License” button will be enabled for your activation. After you have acquired a trial license, you will be able to run SSIS packages on a scheduled basis, or from any other Windows process such as command line. The trial software will operate fully-functional for the trial period, which is generally 14 days. When the trial period expires, the software will revert to the free developer license.
  3. Commercial Subscription License: A commercial license is required when executing unattended jobs (SQL Agent Job, dtexec command line, etc.). Various subscription terms are available.
