TLens C++ (VS 2022)
TLens C++ is a fast, native-grade C/C++ navigation, semantic syntax coloring, refactoring, and memory layout inspection extension for Visual Studio 2022 (x64).
Built specifically for large-scale C/C++, MFC / Win32, OpenCV Machine Vision, and Industrial Inspection Equipment (검사 설비) codebases, it keeps symbol navigation, refactoring, and hardware/frame-buffer struct layout inspection instantaneous even while IntelliSense is still indexing.
Key Features
1. Instant C/C++, MFC & OpenCV Navigation
- Universal Go To (
Alt+G): Jump directly between declarations, definitions, header/source counterparts (.h / .cpp), and overloads.
- Fast File & Symbol Search (
Alt+Shift+O / Alt+Shift+S): Fuzzy search across workspace files, classes, structs, functions, and enums with sub-millisecond cache lookup.
- Find Symbol References (
Shift+Alt+F): Quickly inspect read/write reference call sites across the solution.
- First-Class MFC & Win32 Support: Recognizes MFC message maps (
BEGIN_MESSAGE_MAP, ON_COMMAND, ON_BN_CLICKED, afx_msg, DECLARE_DYNAMIC) and Win32 SDK macros (WINAPI, CALLBACK, LRESULT, WPARAM, LPARAM) without breaking declaration/signature parsing.
2. Semantic Coloring & Macro HUD
- Enhanced Semantic Highlighting: Distinct visual tokens for classes/structs (
CString, CRect, cv::Mat, cv::Rect), methods, member fields, parameters, enums, and preprocessor macros.
- Interactive Macro Expansion HUD: Hover or inspect complex C/C++, MFC, and hardware register macros to see step-by-step expansion tokens.
- Include Dependency Graph & Context Bar: Visualize header inclusion chains, cyclic dependencies, and current scope breadcrumbs at the top of the editor.
3. Safe C++ Refactoring Catalog (Alt+Shift+R)
- Create Implementation / Declaration: Automatically generate matching
.cpp method bodies (including MFC dialog/inspection classes) or .h declarations.
- Add Missing
include / Forward Declare: Insert the shortest valid #include path or forward declaration at the right header section.
- Extract Function / Constant / Variable: Turn selected expressions or blocks into clean helper functions or named constants.
- Convert Loop / Modernize: Transform raw index loops into range-based
for loops and convert legacy typedefs or raw pointers where appropriate.
- Implement Interface & Rule of 5: Scaffold pure virtual overrides, copy/move constructors, assignment operators, and equality operators in one action.
4. Memory Layout, Alignment & Static Diagnostics
- Interactive Struct/Class Memory Layout (
sizeof / alignof): Inspect exact byte offsets, hidden padding bytes, cache-line boundaries, and packing savings for C/C++ structs, Win32 packet headers (BYTE/WORD/DWORD), and OpenCV types (cv::Mat, cv::Rect, cv::Point2f, cv::Scalar).
- Actionable Field Reordering: Preview optimal field ordering to minimize struct padding in PLC/grabber protocols and high-throughput frame buffers.
- Real-Time Diagnostics: Detect uninitialized member variables, expensive pass-by-value parameters (such as passing
cv::Mat or CString by value instead of const&), and missing virtual destructors.

Requirements & Notes
- Supported IDE: Visual Studio 2022 (
17.0 or later, x64) — Community, Professional, and Enterprise.
- Optional Clang/LLVM Integration: Automatically uses the bundled
clangd engine or Visual Studio's installed C++ Clang Compiler for Windows (LLVM) workload for deep AST verification.
