Ibis Flow for Azure Boards

One backlog. Start anywhere.

Ibis Flow helps product and engineering teams turn incomplete backlog items into decisions that delivery teams can act on. Refine user stories, prioritise work with stakeholders and estimate together — without replacing Azure DevOps.

This Visual Studio Marketplace listing is Free. Microsoft does not charge for the extension. Ibis Flow itself is a separate 14-day trial or paid subscription on ibisflow.com. Installing does not create a billing customer or change your Ibis Flow plan.

For Microsoft procurement or product questions, see Ibis Flow on Microsoft Marketplace. That SaaS listing is Contact me — Microsoft does not bill there. Start the trial on ibisflow.com.

Use Ibis Flow when

  • user stories reach refinement without enough context or clear acceptance criteria
  • stakeholder priorities are scattered across meetings, messages and spreadsheets
  • planning poker begins before the team shares the same understanding
  • decisions need to be written back to Azure Boards instead of being lost in another tool

What Ibis Flow does

Ibis Flow runs on ibisflow.com. More complete than a standalone planning poker tool, and lighter than replacing Azure Boards with a portfolio-management suite. Every module can be used independently. One connected workflow from craft → rank → size.

Story Studio — buildable tickets before refinement
Guides product owners through the missing context, questions and acceptance criteria that make a work item ready for delivery. The team reviews the result before it is written back to Azure Boards.

Prioritisation — structured input without another meeting
Collect stakeholder input asynchronously using RICE, MoSCoW, WSJF or MaxDiff. Stakeholders sign in with Google or Microsoft without paid stakeholder seats. The host retains decision ownership and writes the outcome back to the backlog.

Estimation — planning poker with shared context
Collaborative story-point estimation with simultaneous voting and hidden estimates until reveal. A shared briefing helps the team start from the same context. Agree an estimate and sync it to Azure DevOps.

What this extension does

  • Binds this Azure DevOps organization to an Ibis Flow workspace after you sign in
  • Shows whether your Ibis Flow trial or paid plan can launch Story Studio
  • Opens Story Studio for the current work item when that ticket is already synced

The extension does not run Story Studio, Planning Poker or prioritisation inside Azure DevOps.

Requirements

  • An Ibis Flow workspace — start a 14-day trial at ibisflow.com/marketplace/ado (no credit card)
  • Azure DevOps connected from Ibis Flow → Account → Integrations when you want work-item identity

Ibis Flow is EU-hosted, with GDPR documentation, a DPA and technical organisational measures. Google and Microsoft sign-in.
