NewsNow available for Visual Studio 2013! See "More from Gil Yoder" over there. OverviewXaml Helpmeet is a free extension for Visual Studio 2012 to help developers work with xaml code. The original code on which this product is based was written by Karl Shifflett in Visual Basic, and was called "XAML Power Toys." That version could be installed on earlier versions of Visual Studio, but not in Visual Studio 2012. This version is a rewrite of the previous code into C# with several changes designed to improve some of the selection testing that the software depends on, and a few new features. Users of Karl's Power Toys should be able to begin using Helpmeet without any difficulty. New features at this time consist of commands to manipulate text selections in xaml, and other enhancements. Your Help RequestedWe think that most bugs have been identified and corrected, but there may be some that we have missed. Your help to identify new problems would be very helpful. If something does not work as it should, please describe the issue on the Helpmeet Issues page. We will promptly respond and fix every problem quickly. If you think something could be better, you can use the Helpmeet Issues page to describe that too. Depending on the suggestion's complexity, we will deal with those issues as we have time, but still with some dispatch. How to Get HelpDocumentation and support for the product is provided at the following site: You can contact the author there, find help using the tool, report problems, ask questions, etc. Thank you for your interest in Xaml Helpmeet! Once you have used the extension for a while, please rate the software here, and let others know what you think. Giving BackXaml Helpmeet is free, as in, it doesn't cost anything. We don't even have a "donate" button. You can encourage us on this though by giving this package four or five stars above. Just so you know any rating less than three stars deminishes from a programmer's reputation on a site. Three stars simply means "OK." Four stars means, "I like it." And five means, "It's great." So if you use Xaml Helpmeet and find it useful, please rate it four or five stars to encourage continued work on the product. Thanks! Change Log 2013 07/28 Version 0.7 Beta This release fixes the issue described before regarding the Create View Model command, and makes some improvements over the original code on which Xaml Helpmeet is based. The extension should be mostly functional, if not fully. 2013 07/23 Version 0.6 Beta Made some changes to fix bugs in several dialog boxes that prevented their use. Some of the windows used to create xaml from classes still need work, but I expect to have them fixed within a little while. There is room for improvement in some of the work flows used with the tool, but we would like to hear from users so we can know where to concentrate our efforts. |
