What this extension is about

This extension is meant to make tedious work easier and faster. Like the name already suggests those features will only apply to Unreal Engine projects.

While there are other extensions for Visual Studio supporting the development process like Resharper or Visual Assist, they follow a much more general approach, you can use them also with non-Unreal Engine projects. This extension is not planned to have features outside of Unreal Engine development and those features are quite individual to that.

Main Features

Plugin Manager

A comprehensive window to add, edit and remove plugins to your project as well as adding, editing and removing modules from plugins.

Generate Project Files

Just click this button to invoke the same command as the right click on *.uproject file "Generate Visual Studio project files" context menu does. (Also works in launcher builds, which is not the case for UnrealVS)

Filter context menu

Right click on a filter (i.e. folders on your system) to add a file to your project will default to the intermediate folder of your project and not the folder represented by the filter. Use this context menu to achieve that easily.

The Goal...

... is to improve the experience when working with Unreal Engine in Visual Studio, to reduce errors, to make work faster and more efficient and to fill knowledge gaps or rather reduce the documentation you have to read to get things done.

It is not the goal to replace any other extension but to give anyone who wants to work with the Unreal Engine the opportunity to do this the least difficulties for free. If you are missing any features other extensions might have, please use the other extension (best combined with this extension).

You can also suggest more features or improvements for this extension and it might get added in a future update.
