The Self-Tracking Entity Generator can be used to generate a strongly-typed ObjectContext class and Self-Tracking Entity classes from an Entity Framework model created using the EF Designer.

Once installed, you can right-click on the EF Designer surface and select "Add Code Generation Item..." from the menu. 

STE Template Not Recommended

We no longer recommend using the STE template in new applications, it continues to be available to support existing applications. Visit theN-Tier Applications page for other options we recommend for N-Tier scenarios.
