Welcome to the Windows Driver Kit (WDK) Visual Studio Extension package! This extension package includes essential Visual Studio extensions, Driver Project Templates, and MSBuild Toolset files designed to enable Driver Projects to build using the MSBuild toolset shipped with Visual Studio.

Driver Project Templates - These templates include such as Kernel Mode Driver Framework (KMDF), User Mode Driver Framework (UMDF) and Common device stacks driver templates (e.g., USB and Printers). The template provides headers, source files, resource files, and external dependencies to get developers started with developing Windows Drivers.
To create a Windows driver from a driver project template, follow these steps:
Open Microsoft Visual Studio.
Go to the File menu and choose New > Project.
In the Create a new project dialog box:
Select C++ in the left dropdown.
Choose Windows in the middle dropdown.
Select Driver in the right dropdown.
Click Next and follow the instructions.
