  • Status Donut Chart — See how many items are Not Started, In Progress, Late, or Completed at a glance
  • Work Item Type Breakdown — Bar chart showing the distribution of Epics, Features, Tasks, Bugs, and all custom types
  • Effort per Person — Stacked bar chart showing each team member's workload broken down by status

  • Status Dots — Color-coded dots show the status of each task

Tracker — Work Item Matrix & Data Table

A comprehensive tracking dashboard for program managers and leadership.

  • Summary Cards — Active, Proposed, Started, Committed, Completed, and Total work item counts
  • Work Item Matrix — State vs. Month pivot table with auto-generated columns as new months are added
  • Full Data Table — Every work item with ID, Type, Title, Assigned To, State, Start/End Date, Area Path, Iteration, and Progress
  • 5 Dynamic Filters — Filter by Month, Resource, Work Item Type, State, or Area Path — all populated automatically from your project data
  • Clickable IDs — Click any work item ID to open it directly in Azure DevOps
  • Overdue Highlighting — Past-deadline items highlighted in red
  • Refresh Button — Re-fetch all data with one click

Fully Dynamic — Zero Configuration

Everything is fetched live from Azure DevOps APIs. Nothing is hardcoded.

  • Work Item Icons & Colors — Automatically fetched from your project's Work Item Type definitions via the REST API. Custom types like Deliverable, Scenario, Customer Promise, Task Group — all show their correct Azure DevOps icons
  • Custom States — Proposed, Committed, Started, Completed, Removed — all recognized automatically. Any custom state workflow is supported
  • Dynamic Dates — Reads Start Date, Target Date, Finish Date, and Due Date. Uses the latest end date when multiple fields are set
  • Child Progress Calculation — Parent work items automatically calculate their progress percentage from child item completion rates. If 4 out of 9 children are Completed, the parent shows 44%
  • Auto-Expanding Timeline — The timeline automatically extends to cover all your work item dates, whether they span 2 weeks or 2 years
  • All Work Item Types — Epic, Feature, User Story, Task, Bug, Deliverable, Scenario, Customer Promise, Task Group, Initiative, Test Case, Test Plan, Test Suite, and any custom types you create

Getting Started

  1. Install the extension from the Marketplace
  2. Navigate to Boards in your Azure DevOps project
  3. Click Gantt Chart in the left sidebar
  4. Your work items appear automatically on the timeline
