New: Microsoft Exchange Server Support!

Version 3.0 now supports Microsoft Exchange Server, allowing SharePoint users to view, edit and manage events from three distinctive data sources (SharePoint lists, SQL tables and Microsoft Exchange Calendar) in a single SharePoint calendar.

Virto Calendar enables users to view all of their events from different data sources (SharePoint List, Microsoft Exchange Calendar or SQL Tables) in one single calendar, sparing the necessity to switch between multiple views. Another value offered is the ability to bind from different data sources - from SharePoint lists, Microsoft Exchange Calendars and SQL tables, to create a new calendar event. This exceeds most other calendars that can only use one data source, and be displayed in only one view. Virto Calendar surpasses the existing SharePoint calendar view's functionality by allowing users to specify the list or view, and also color code the displayed items by category of events (such as internal or external, view day, week, month, year, and Gantt view).

Virto Calendar Web Part is user friendly and has a simple interface, allowing users to easily create new calendar events with a single click! Included with Virto are editing features that will make working with SharePoint easy and pleasant. To change the date of an event, simply drag and drop it to the appropriate calendar cell. To change the event timeframe, simply expand the event to incorporate the correct duration of the event.

Virto Calendar Web Part also supports MOSS Audience Targeting. With this feature, information can be targeted to appear only to users who are members of a particular group or audience. This is useful to present information that is relevant only to a particular group. For example, legal events can only be visible to the legal department.

Optional Tooltip (pop up) is another useful feature of the Virto Web Part Calendar. Users can get a quick preview of any event-related information (i.e., timeframe, description, resources, attachments, etc.) just by moving the cursor above the event.

Virto Calendar is built on Ajax technology and is designed for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. Installation is simple and only requires a small amount of time. Currently, Virto Calendar supports English, German, Spanish, Russian, French and Chinese Simplified languages.

Virto Calendar can be used instead of the built-in SharePoint Calendar to provide you with powerful capabilities for more convenient events calendaring.
