How It Works

1. Install Azure DevOps Insights in your Azure DevOps project.
2. Choose a timeframe: two sprints, six sprints, 30, 60, or 90 days, or a full quarter.
3. Select a role-based dashboard or enter your own question. Use curated views for PMO, engineering, and executive teams, or explore your data with Ask Anything.
4. Act on the results. Review clear summaries, charts, counts, and suggested next steps without leaving Azure DevOps.

Private, Secure, and Available on Demand

Your data is queried live only when you make a request. Nothing is stored, synchronized, or processed in the background.

Azure DevOps Insights never reads or analyzes source code. It uses only delivery signals, including work items, commits, pull requests, sprint activity, and workflow changes. Your Azure DevOps session token is used only for the duration of each request.

Permission profiles

Normal releases request Work Item, Code metadata, and Profile access. These releases continue updating without a new organization approval.

An optional Full Permissions release also requests Graph and Test Management access so an organization administrator can approve those capabilities before future features need them. The current product does not activate archived Graph seat management or query test-run results merely because those permissions were approved.
