Introducing the COZYROC SSIS+ library with support for receiving e-mails. The Receive Mail Task is a third-party plug-in for Microsoft SSIS. This Task may be used in the Control Flow design of your SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to receive e-mails, decrypt e-mails and verify signatures. It can also receive attachments on e-mails, whether they are encrypted or not. The security standard supported by the Task is Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME). The COZYROC SSIS+ toolkit is easy to use and follows the same guidelines and principles used by the standard out-of-the-box SSIS tasks and components. In addition, COZYROC provides short and informative demonstration videos, providing step-by-step instructions on how to get started. The Receive Mail Task provides three types of Connection Managers to specify how to access the mail server: Following is a list of the actions you can perform with the Receive Mail Task:
You will use a separate instance of the task for each of the above actions. For example, one instance would be used to retrieve the list of e-mails and then another instance would be used in a loop to get each of the e-mails and/or their attachments from the list. Yet another instance would be used inside the loop to open the e-mails and another to delete the e-mails, if desired. Each time the task is used to open e-mails, you can use it to handle either regular e-mails or encrypted e-mails, but not both in the same instance of the task. In other words, one instance of the task cannot handle intermixed encrypted and regular e-mails. The Receive Mail Task provides the ability to use a filter to select e-mails of interest using any of the following elements of the e-mail header: ID, Date, Size, From, To, CC, ReplyTo, Subject, BodyText, BodyHtml, and HasAttachments. A typical scenario where you could use this feature would be to look for e-mails from a certain e-mail address that were sent after a certain date. Many of the parameters used to configure the task can be specified as variables, thus allowing for modifications at runtime. COZYROC offers unique technology which allows user-defined reusable scripts and we currently provide the following free scripts related to receiving mail:
