What is Xamlr?

Xamlr is a Xaml formatteR extension for Visual Studio version 2015 CTP that enables WPF developers to work with their XAML files more effectively; both on an individual basis and as part of a team. It does this by overriding the inbuilt formatting logic for XAML files to produce beautiful, easy to read and easy to merge XAML at lightning speed.

How do I use Xamlr?

1. Download the version that matches your version of Visual Studio.
2. Run the installer and restart Visual Studio if prompted.
3. In Visual Studio open any XAML document (ensure it is not read-only).
4. Save the document.

Tip you can disable format on save in Tools --> Options --> Xamlr and format using the Visual Studio document formatting command: you will probably find that CTRL K, D or CTRL E, D is a good shortcut combination.
