Translates selected text in code editor
Download

This extension translates selected text in the editor.

It adds "Translate" command to editor's context menu.

The translations are shown in popups below translated text.

Additional features:

  • Supports Google and Bing translation services
  • Splits multipart identifiers into words
  • Can provide alternative values for single words
  • Has options page in Tools > Options window where you can choose translation service (only Google Translate for now) and translation direction.

Source code is on Codeplex.

Some pictures to prove that it really works

Setting menu shortcut

I don't provide any shortcut for "Translate" command by default, because it may conflict with other commands, but you can set it manually in the keyboard configuration.

Just search "Translate", set "Use new shortcut in" = "Text Editor", press the key combination that you selected, and then press "Assign".
