Azure Pipelines app for Slack

Slack is one of the most popular workplace messaging platforms where teams collaborate to get work done. With Azure Pipelines app for Slack, you can easily monitor your pipelines from your Slack channel.

Users can create subscriptions to get notifications for build & release events (listed below). Users can approve releases from their Slack channels. Whenever a notification is sent, users are @mentioned so that they need not have to poll the channel continuosly for things that require their attention. Users can get previews of builds and releases using respective URLs which will help to make the conversations in the channel rich and accurate.

Things you can do with the app

Azure Pipelines app for Slack helps you to do following things from your Slack channel:

  • Get notifications for various events related to builds and releases (listed below)
  • Approve release deployments from your Slack channel
  • Get @mentioned in the Slack channel when something needs your attention
  • Use filters to customize what you hear in the channel
  • Use build/release URLs to get preview of build/releases. This will help to add context to the conversations in the channel
