Collaboration is one of the most critical tenets of modern day software development. Developers today rely on communication platforms like Slack extensively to get work done.
Often, Slack is the place where ideas are discussed, insights are generated and product defects are identified. The same discussions then can continue in Azure Boards
where development teams actually plan and manage their work.
Things you can do with the app
Azure Boards app for Slack helps you to do following things from your Slack channel:
Create work items using slash command
Convert a conversation in the channel into work item using message actions
Get notified whenever work items are created, updated, commented on, deleted or restored
Use filters to customize what you hear in the channel
Use work item URLs to get preview of work items. This will help to add context to the conversations in the channel
Documentation
For more details about the app, please take a look at the documentation or go straight ahead and install the app.
Create work items and monitor work item activity from your channel
Users can use message actions to create work item from a conversation. The created work item will contain a link back to the slack message
from which it was created. Work items can also be created using /azboards create command.
Users can get notification cards whenever a work item is created, updated, commented on, deleted or restored.
Users can use work item URLs to get details about the work items in the channel without having to navigate to Azure Boards portal.
Feedback
We are constantly at work to improve the app. Please give the app a try and send us your feedback
using the /azboards feedback command in the app or on the Azure DevOps feedback portal
