Download

This SDK is for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.x apps, and will not be maintained beyond critical hotfixes. We recommend that you target apps to Windows 10 with Universal Windows Platform (UWP) support, and download the Microsoft Advertising SDK (UWP).

Known issues in this release

  • AdControl: Avoid use of the Dispose method from C# apps as it may lead to access violations because of a language issue with C++/CX. You can null the object and let the C# garbage collection handle the cleanup.
  • AdControl/InterstitialAd: Certain platform calls throw exceptions that the SDK handles, but Visual Studio by default will break anyway (0x80070002 File not found, 0x803f6107 app license error). These occur on unpublished apps in development and can be safely ignored as they self correct.
