"File: Create" Command
The "File: Create" command is used to quickly add new file(s) to the projects without having to use the tree view.
Open the prompt using vscode's command palette and search for "File: Create" or use the keyboard shortcut
Ctrl + Alt + N on Windows & Linux or
Cmd + Alt + N on macOS by default)
Enter the file paths/names like follows:
folder/file.txt to use project folder as the root folder
./folder/file.txt to use the folder of the file that's currently open as the root folder
../folder/file.txt to use the current file's folder's parent folder as the root folder
- Separate multiple files using
; on Windows and
: on POSIX systems
../ in your paths is no different from not using them if no file is currently open in the editor.
