Using the codespaces-telemetry CLI

Use the npm package -> https://www.npmjs.com/package/codespaces-telemetry

> npx codespaces-telemetry

Usage: codespaces-telemetry [options] [command]

Options:
  -V, --version          output the version number
  -h, --help             display help for command

Commands:
  on-create [options]    Run the onCreate lifecycle event
  post-create [options]  Run the postCreate lifecycle event
  post-start [options]   Run the postStart lifecycle event
  help [command]         display help for command

Using the codespaces-telemetry VSCode Extension

Install the extension in VSCode -> https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=stuartwilcox.codespaces-telemetry

In settings, under the section Codespaces Telemetry, select Enabled and enter values for Ingestion Endpoint & Instrumenation Key. Other settings' values may be kept as default.

It is a good idea to add default values in the workspace/project settings file, and allow the user to determine if they wish telemetry to be enabled.
